Student Trip to Auroville
Students of the Product Design and Communication Design Second year visited the Ecological Spiritual Township of Auroville. They experimented with Bamboo Furniture, Musical Instrument Making, Handmade Paper production and Raku Pottery through workshops conducted by the respective hubs in Auroville.
Decode Fashion
#DecodeFashion with #LoveAndOtherBugs was filled with talks on Fashion Communication, Blogging & more! Students were introduced to the concept of how to make a blog, generating original content and finding their niche through an interactive workshop on the weekend.
Christmas 2015
To acknowledge the spirit and cheer of Christmas, ISDI celebrated its first ever Secret Santa hosted by the students.
Study Trip to Munnar
Faculty of Fashion Design organized a study tour for students to Munnar where students were asked to put together a collection of keepsakes from their past that they felt a sense of nostalgia towards in the form of notes, photographs, drawings and tear sheets which they used as form for their batik. They also learnt paper making and saw the entire process of tea making.
Study Trip to Ahmedabad
The Interior Design study trip was organized such that the students had a rich and varied experience of Ahmedabad. The students were exposed to all these various aspects of the city. They also visited studios of local designers and architects. They spent 5 intense and focused days in the city studying these buildings and drawing, sketching and engaging in discussions.

Students recently showcased Shazia Naik’s Shazzle work as they walked for her new capsule collection ‘Aqua’, inspired by waves at a recent event at ISDI

ISDI at the forefront of Make In India Week
ISDI was proud to be the Lead Partner of the India Design Show at the Make in India Week. During the Week, ISDI, along with National Institute of Design (NID), India Design Council (IDC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) presented India Design Show, a comprehensive showcase of Indian design prowess and a platform that brought together a myriad manifestations of design as a unified force to the people and industry which was inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
