Introduction To E.V Chargers- “An electric vehicle charging station, also called EV charging station, electric charging point, charging point, charge point, electronic charging station (ECS), and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), is an element in an infrastructure that supplies electric energy for the recharging of plug-in electric vehicles—including electric cars, neighborhood electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.”

There was a time when an electric car could be plugged into just about any electrical outlet its owner could find. EVSE is a protocol to help keep you and your electric car safe while charging. It enhances safety by enabling two way communication between the charger & Ev. EVSE can also detect hardware faults, disconnecting the power and preventing battery damage, electrical shorts or worse still, fire.

History of Charging Technology First EV’s had disposable batteries & the technology for “charging” was replacing “dead” batteries. Invention of rechargeable batteries meant that new EV models had the possibility of using the same batteries without replacement. All these early EV’s were not mass made, hence there was no need for commercial purposes.

Why the delay? 10 The earliest EV did not have particularly innovative charging technology to support them. In fact, they were often passion projects taken on by auto enthusiasts, such as pioneer Henry Ford. the convenience and lower cost of the combustion engine soon gave petrol cars the advantage.
